The Promise Of The Tithe
According to Malachi, the consequences for not tithing include the withholding of God's blessing in our lives and an obstruction of His desire to prosper us financially Malachi 3:9. With that said, tithing has been, and always will be, a voluntary act on the part of God's people. Although not tithing brings about a withholding of God's blessings, tithing with proper motives invokes God's blessings:
"'Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,' says the Lord of hosts, 'and see if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.'" Malachi 3:10 NAS
God’s Word is filled with promises of abundance and blessing if we simply honor the Lord with our tithes.
One such promise is found in Philippians 4:19 NIV where the Apostle Paul emphatically promises us that, “My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
