SVCC Compassion in Action Relief Efforts

One of our dreams for SVCC is to build a strong sense of partnership with an indigenous Missions organization. God has placed a burden on our hearts for the continent of Africa, and we are very pleased with the mission work we see being done in Kigoma, Tanzania and Owerri, Nigeria. We are also delighted to see how our church family has rallied to give and be actively involved. The purpose of SVCC C.A.R.E. is not only to promote the tremendous need in Africa to our church family, but to also generate support from the community.

Our partnership in Owerri, Nigeria is with the West African Center for Missions, an organization that trains African leaders to reach throughout the continent of Africa. The Mission has a 35-bed hospital, which also sponsors rural medical clinics and aids clinics. There are 550 students in the Bible College that has sponsored hundreds of church plants. Each new church is supported financially for 1 year and then is launched to be independent. There are plans for an elementary school, orphanage and day care facilities, all of which will change the course of thousands of lives from poverty, despair and hopelessness into a love of knowing and serving Christ.
