Podcasting FAQ
What is podcasting?
The term podcasting derives its name from Apple's iPod, but to listen to one you don't need to own an iPod or any portable music player for that matter. In a nutshell, podcasting is a new type of online media delivery technology.
With podcasting, you can listen to radio programs (music, talk shows, church messages, etc.) whenever and wherever you choose. Podcasts are MP3 audio files that are downloaded to your personal computer and then transferred to an iPod or other MP3 player using a podcasting application. Listeners can retain audio archives to listen to at their leisure. If you subscribe to a podcast, the MP3 audio files can downloaded automatically.
What equipment do I need?
The basic requirements for podcasting are a computer (PC or Mac), podcasting software and an Internet connection. For portability, an iPod or other MP3 player is needed. If your computer has a CD burner, you can create an audio CD.
How do I get started?
Simply download and install podcasting software onto your computer (we recommend iTunes). Although applications vary, each should provide instructions on how to subscribe to a podcast. Then, just check your podcast subscriptions for the MP3s of your selected programs that will be downloaded to your computer.
How do I subscribe to SVCC’s podcast using iTunes?

http://feeds.feedburner.com/southvalleycommunitychurch - Click "OK"
You are now subscribed to the SVCC podcast! On the left hand side of the iTunes application, click on the icon labeled "Podcast". All of the podcasts that you are subscribed should appear in the list to the right. In this list, there should be a podcast named "South Valley Community Church".
Since you are now subscribed, each time you run the iTunes application, it will check to see if there is a newer podcast episode. If a newer episode exists, iTunes will download it automatically to your computer.
If you are interested in an older episode, click on the triangle next to "South Valley Community Church" and all of the SVCC podcast episodes will be displayed. You can download any episode by clicking the "Get" button.
